FAQ

Do you ship wine where I live?

For now, we’re 100% Colorado 100% of the time. Wish we shipped where you live? Email us at cheers @ obcwineproject.com. Colorado state law requires someone 21 years of age or older to sign for the package at delivery. Pro tip: Sign up for a free UPS My Choice account to track your package and avoid returned wine shipments, which are subject to additional shipping charges.

I’ve never had wine delivered – what do I need to know?

You must be 21 years of age, or older, to order or receive alcoholic beverages from The OBC Wine Project. Receipt of shipments containing alcoholic beverages requires the signature of a sober adult (a person 21 years of age or older who is not intoxicated). Wines purchased from The OBC Wine Project are not for resale, and are for personal consumption only. Pro Tip: Consider shipping to a business address as someone 21+ must sign. We recommend signing up for a free account at UPS.com to manage your shipment.

When will my curated Wine Shop package ship?

For purchases through the Wine Shop, your shipment will go out the Tuesday after you purchase.

When will my Wine Club order ship?

Your first shipment will go out the Tuesday after sign-up and then you’ll receive your shipments every three months. Your card will only be charged when your wines are shipped, and you can easily skip a shipment or cancel your membership at any time prior to billing.

What are shipping costs?

UPS Ground is our carrier of choice. Ground shipping is determined by market rates by weight and size and is currently $24/box.

What about extreme temps during shipping?

Wine is a perishable commodity. Wine does not like extremes of temperature: hot humid summer and cold winter weather may adversely affect the condition of your wine during shipment. The OBC Wine Project is not responsible for, and will not replace wine that is damaged by extreme weather conditions during shipment. When your wine order is picked up by the carrier for delivery, responsibility for the wine becomes the responsibility of the purchaser.

How should I serve and store The OBC Wine Project wine?

We recommend storing our wines room temp (65 degrees) and serving at your preferred temp! If you want to dial in your wine serving temps according to the “experts” – generally serve red wines slightly cooler than room temp: 62–68 degrees F, and white wines slightly warmer than fridge temp: 49-55 degrees F. You can drink it right out of the can of course, or pour it into a glass to enjoy even more aroma, flavor and see the beautiful colors.

Can you age The OBC Project canned wine?

We can our wines at the time they are meant to be consumed, which may be right after production for a rosé or after months of barrel-aging for a cab. While the can will remain drinkable for much longer, we think flavors and aromatics of the wines are best within 18 months of the canning date, which is stamped right on the bottom of the can. Ready to drink & ready to share!

How much wine is in each can?

Most of our cans are 355ml, which is 12oz or two generous glasses of wine wine, so pace yourself or plan to share with a friend. They fit perfectly in all your favorite koozies.

Does the can affect the taste?

Like beer and soda cans, modern wine cans don’t transmit an aluminum taste, and have a protective coating or liner. You might be surprised to learn that cans are actually better for most wines than glass bottles. There’s no possibility of the wine being “corked” which spoils 2-3 % of all wines. There’s also no risk of oxidation or light penetration, which can lead to that musty, cardboard taste.
